        An intact bolt of material in blue, this textile is a 1:1 doup patterned gause on a gauze ground. The variation in design among the bats is meant to express a multitude of happiness and good luck. The pattern repeat in the weft direction is 19cm, much wider than the warp repeat of 8.5cm. The inscription in the lead reads "杭州织造臣文治"or "By Imperial Servant Wenzhi of the Hangzhou Weaving Administration."(XY)
