    This silk qi-pao reflects the style of the 1940s. Still with a stand collar and a side-opening front panel, it has long sleeves and a gathered waist. The use of snap buttons and a zipper, however,indicates that Western tailoring techniques have been adapted to the making of Chinese style dresses. The material is a satin weave, with large red flowers ona deep green ground. (XY)
