This fitting lined-jacket has a curved hem and sleeves shaped like a trumpet and is bordered with ribbons. The ankle length skirt in black gauze has a self-figured center panel and the rest is thoroughly pleated. Such a combination of a fitting short jacket with a long skirt was regarded as “civilized new outfit” for its adaptation of the stand collar, a tightly fit top, an elevated waist and heavily pleated long skirts from its contemporary European fashion as well as its adherence to the traditional Chinese pairing of a lined-jacket and a skirt.
