Jacquard textiles are one of the oldest and most sophisticated types of textile. Now the combination of computerized design and Jacquard technique creates limitless possibilities for fascinating fabrics. As part of the first Hangzhou Triennial of Fiber Art, this exhibition, co-organized by China National Silk Museum and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will showcase 28 masterpieces by six renowned artists: Junichi Arai, Louise Lemieux Berube, Philippa Brock, Lia Cook, Wen-Ying Huang, and Liz Williamson, who are passionately involved in the cutting edge of this art. By means of the magical Jacquard technique, the artists have created aesthetically pleasing textile arts in various forms, patterns and express a variety of sensational themes.
