Nov. 12, 2011 - Jan. 30, 2012, A special exhibition: “The Silk Road: Hangzhou - Lucca”, co-organized by CNSM and Martino Martini Centre of Studies, is held at Guinigi Palace, Lucca, Italy.


Jan. 4, Entrusted by Zhejiang Province Bureau of Cultural Relics, Wang Ziqiang and Zhou Yang go to check recovered relics of robbery from the South Song dynasty graves in Wuyi, focusing on recovered textile relics, and negotiating emergency protection works with Wuyi Museum colleagues.


Jan. 8, Wu Haiyan, professor of China Academy of Art, makes a speech on clothing matching.


Jan.9, Luo Jing, deputy director of Division of Conservation Science & Information Department of Museums, SACH, and Shi Chenyan, deputy director of Division of Conservation Science & Information Department, visits the Textile Conservation and Scientific Research Building.

Mar. 8 – 28, A special exhibition “A Century of Cheongsam” at Chinese Museum of Women and Children, and holds an academic forum on Chinese women’s clothing.

Mar. 23, Li Gang, deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum and researcher, makes a lecture named "The Essence and Eternity of Celadon".


Mar. 31 - Sep. 16, A special exhibition “Living in Silk: Chinese silk culture through 5,000 years” is held at Nottingham Castle Museum, UK.


Apr. 2, AKIHIKO IZUKURA, etc. from the Natural Dye Association of Japan, comes to CNSM to communicate the dyeing techniques of natural dyes, and contribute in cooperation with the natural dyeing exhibition.


Apr. 12, James. C.Y. Watt, the honorary curator of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, holds a lecture: "Chinese Silk and Decorative Art" at CNSM.


Apr. 13 - Jun. 1, A special exhibition “Paintings and Calligraphy on Chinese Sericulture” is held at CNSM.


Apr. 16 – May 6, Zhao Feng goes to Freer Gallery & The Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, Mahindra & Mahindra Humanities Center at Harvard University, Bryant University, Museum of Chinese University of Hong Kong to attend meetings and conduct academic communications.

Apr. 27, Yu Cuiyan donates her nine pieces/sets of contemporary cheongsam to CNSM, and makes a lecture named “Silent Blessing: the Story in Children’s Clothing”.
